Imperfections.
She'll paint a portrait
Of Black and White,
A dash of red will draw your eyes.
A masterpiece woven
With stale blood from fresh wounds,
Mingled with the salt of starry eyes,
Full of lies.
A Beautiful Monster
Hidden in the backdrop,
Plain for all to see.
With the strike of a brush
The Monster could cease to be.
Running from her past
She strains for inspiration.
Peeling paint of a life now gone
Begs to come into view.
The canvas is torn,
The artist is worn,
The masterpiece,
Unfinished.

Her mind screams to her tightened stomach,
As she attempts a bite.
The food is tasteless,
An empty canvas drawing no interest.
Immediately her throat closes up,
Her stomach is chained
Wrapped up in solid knots.
She gives in to thoughts of emptiness.
Lying,
Saying she doesn’t need it.
Her ribs can scream Hello
Her hip bones can peer through
Her chin is less self-conscious.
The scale doesn’t climb as high,
As high as the emptiness gorging her.
Hunger has died.
Taste is pointless.
Her stomach tightens and battles,
Refusing to let anything in.
